The evaluation is being conducted in collaboration with the American Institutes for Research (AIR). SP-GEAR is a three-year programme running from January 2024 to December 2026. Funded by the European Union and Ireland, it was implemented across nine districts in Malawi.

The programme focused on cash-plus interventions, gender-transformative approaches and strengthening household resilience, with a strong emphasis on empowering women and girls.

Through the endline evaluation, CSR is contributing to generating evidence on how social protection can support lasting gender equity and economic empowerment among vulnerable communities in Malawi.
